🐴 Zuidlaardermarkt (October)

For over 820 years: the oldest horse market in the Netherlands. On the third Tuesday of October, the village of Zuidlaren fills up with more than 1,000 horses, a fair and stalls.

⛵ Sailing week (July)

Early July, WVZ hosts an annual sailing week on the lake with open races for Valken, Schakels and other classes.

🦢 National Bird Week (May)

Guided tours with bird experts at Wilgenpol and Pieterpol, in cooperation with Het Groninger Landschap. Register via their website.

🏃 Zuidlaardermeer Run (April)

Running event over three distances (5/10/20 km) along the eastern shore. Start at Meerzicht in Zuidlaren.
